The History

San Isidro was originally the ranch of Spanish politican and militar Domingo de Acasusso.

In his ranch, he had a small chapel dedicated to San Isidro Labrador. As people came to live in this area, a city was founded after the name of this saint, and became a ranch area of many wealthy aristocratic families in the 1800s.

Today, San Isidro is a leafy, wealthy suburb with beautiful views of the Río de la Plata and Delta region.

Don't miss...
  • San Isidro is nice but very small, we suggest stopping here on the way to or from the Tigre area.

  • In the city, check out the stunning, neo-gothic San Isidro Cathedral, the Los Ombúes Ranch or take a walk down to the many parks by the riverside
